the land of monkey, mosquitos, scorpians, and spiders.

Good'ay folks,
Well we have now found ourselves residing on Ton Sai beach in Krabi. It is beautiful here, there is only a few downsides, and one of those being the lack of internet access, so currently I’m typing an update without the internet just hoping at some point to be able to connect for a bit to get it up, so I’m going to do my best to remember what was said in the last update so I don't repeat.
As I said we are currently on Ton Sai in rock climber heaven. It is an awesome beach just surrounded in huge cliffs just waiting to be conquered by some climber. Before I get to into details about this place let me back up to generally where I think we left off. We were on our way to Ko Phangan? Well anyways, we went to "party" island to find a lot of what we were expecting, people going there looking for a good time, and trying to drink their pain away. Now it is ALL like that just for clarification, but it certainly was a big feel of the place. Ministry was a lot different there than what we had experienced before but it was a really good opportunity for each of us to get out of our comfort zones a little and really trust in God to provide us opportunities to witness, and He definitely did. As I mentioned before, we met a guy in Ko Samui named Stefan who decided to go with us and that was a really incredible experience.  He joined in on bible study with us, and read with us, and on the last day before we separated, he even prayed, for what he said was one of his first times praying! It was incredible. I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself, and there is lots of details in between of awesome conversations, and many laughs we shared with him, but for the sake of not dragging this out too much, I will keep it at that. It was amazing, and we are continuing to pray for him and keep in touch when we can. Other amazing stories from Ko phangan, include an amazing divine appointment set out for Malori when she was sensitive to the spirit about going somewhere and ended up meeting this one guy, who had been searching for someone to validate that his past experience with the Lord was real, and that God really did exist. So even throughout some of the pain of the place and how partying is such a mask for the people there, God can still work.
So then after our 4am departure time, and a day of travel including a quick peek into Malaysia and back we made in to Ton Sai eager to see what was in store for us on our last official week of ministry time. And so far, it has been amazing. The Lord never ceases to amaze me. On our first day here I met these three climbers, who are just beginners and began to chat with them. We ended up totally hitting it off and have spent the last 3 days constantly hanging out with them. We have had some incredible conversations about religion and faith and family, and have become really good friends with the three Americans.  This week our team is also blessed to have Denver as a part of our team as he is here on his pastoral visit. It has been really awesome getting to see him again, and hear stories of all his crazy travel stories from seeing the other teams and such.  Ministry here has been awesome, and the people are so easy to talk to. It is hard to believe that in 10 short days we will be getting on a plane and heading back to New Zealand. Our plan is to spend the rest of this week here before heading out to our "surprise" location for debrief.
Prayer Points:
-for further deep discussions with our new friends in Ton Sai
-the Stefan would continue to read the bible as he travels alone
-For health and safety as we have all been feeling a little under the weather later, and I (Becky) fell into a ditch on our first night here. feel free to chuckle to yourself it was definitely as funny as it sounds!
-that we would finish the race well, in other words push through right till the end of outreach sharing the Gospel fearlessly

  1. Sounds like you're having an amazing time there.
Yup, had a little chuckle and was remembering other times...lamp posts. AHH you are so funny.
Sorry to hear you've been under the weather but I'm sure you will be on the mend soon. I can't believe it's soon time for your team to head back to New Zealand.
"Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love." Ephesians 6:23 & 24
    Love you Becky and all!
